PocketXRP

A Mac menu-bar appExperimental

XRP in your pocket.

A full XRP Ledger node in your Mac’s menu bar. It follows mainnet and keeps the whole current ledger on your Mac.

A full node, not a light client. It applies each ledger’s transactions itself and checks the result against the network’s trusted validators.

Getting started

  2. Drag PocketXRP to Applications

  3. Open it

The first sync takes about 15 minutes on a good connection. Then it keeps up on its own.

Under the hood: KeyDom

Every storage engine trades between three things: how fast it reads, how much RAM it needs, and how much disk it takes. Make two of them cheap and the third usually pays.

PocketXRP runs on KeyDom, an experimental storage engine built for it. KeyDom picks fast reads and low RAM, and spends a little extra disk: new ledger data goes on the end of the store, and the node trims it back in the background, without stopping.

For database people: a cousin of the RUM conjecture (Read, Update, Memory), where "memory" means space.
