PocketXRP

A Mac menu-bar appExperimental

XRP in your pocket.

A full XRP Ledger node in your Mac’s menu bar. It follows mainnet and keeps the whole current ledger on your Mac.

A full node, not a light client. It applies each ledger’s transactions itself and checks the result against the network’s trusted validators.

The first sync takes about 15 minutes on a good connection. Then it keeps up on its own.

Under the hood: KeyDom

Every storage engine trades between three things: how fast it reads, how much RAM it needs, and how much disk it takes. Make two of them cheap and the third usually pays.

PocketXRP runs on KeyDom, a storage engine built for it. KeyDom picks fast reads and low RAM, and spends a little extra disk: new ledger data goes on the end of the store, and the node trims it back in the background, without stopping.

For database people: a cousin of the RUM conjecture (Read, Update, Memory), where "memory" means space.
